Kenneth Ian Husband was born on Long Island NY and from the age of five, Ken and his father would frequent local art museums and galleries. His father would explain in great detail the extensive history of art, as well as the different styles and meanings of the works they saw. For a short time, Kenneth Ian studied fine arts, but had to give it up when he was faced with financial challenges. Art for Kenneth Ian was and has always been a way to escape the harsh realities of everyday life. However, as the demands of life increased, the time he had to devote to his passion decreased. In that time, he became an offshore fisherman and then, a sign installer. Not long after, Kenneth Ian’s personal world seemed to crumble before him. While at work, he broke both wrists. Then he was laid off from that same job. His longtime girlfriend left him. He lost his house and even his dog. Broke and broken, he moved back home with his parents. But even though his world seemed bleak, his passion for painting was growing ever stronger. He knew that painting would put him on a journey to work through his problems. After completing a few paintings in his former surrealistic style, Kenneth Ian discovered he no longer needed to control the paint on the canvas. Instead, he felt compelled to let his emotions dictate who and what he was as both a man and artist. Kenneth Ian and his style had forever been changed. Since returning to painting, he has received multiple Best in Show awards. Kenneth Ian has had several NYC solo shows as well as several national shows from Chicago to Milwaukee . Kenneth Ian belongs to four different artistic groups from New York to Wisconsin – the South Bay Artists Association, the Brookhaven Arts and Humanities Council, the Plymouth Center for Arts, and Sheboygan’s Visual Artists. Kenneth Ian has sold paintings to private collectors throughout the USA. He is living his passion each and every day.
